Lyndsey
Creator of Beneath the Behavior™
Lyndsey is a canine behavior practitioner specializing in nervous‑system regulation and the emotional foundations of behavior. She is the creator of Beneath the Behavior™, a regulation‑first, relationship‑centered method designed for dogs whose needs fall outside the scope of traditional training.
Her work focuses on dogs experiencing shutdown, reactivity, fear, aggression, chronic stress, and sensory overwhelm. Drawing from stress physiology, somatic patterns, attachment theory, and intuitive observation, she helps families understand not just what their dog is doing, but why their nervous system is responding the way it is.
Lyndsey developed Beneath the Behavior™ after years of working with dogs who were misunderstood, mislabeled, or considered “untrainable.”
She saw a consistent pattern: these dogs weren’t struggling with obedience — they were struggling with regulation. Their bodies were overwhelmed long before their behavior appeared.
Her method bridges that gap. By restoring safety and supporting the dog’s nervous system, she helps dogs move from survival responses to genuine connection. Once regulation is established, traditional training becomes not only possible, but far more effective and humane.
Lyndsey is known for her ability to transform cases involving:
shutdown and freeze responses
fear‑based or defensive aggression
chronic reactivity
hypervigilance and sensory sensitivity
dogs who “don’t respond” to training
dogs with complex emotional or trauma histories
Families and professionals seek her out for her calm, intuitive presence and her ability to translate complex nervous‑system concepts into clear, accessible guidance.
Her work has helped countless dogs rediscover curiosity, confidence, and connection — often after years of struggle.
